The nIGERIAN Senate has rejected the nomination of Lauretta Onochie- (a known advocate for the current president of nIGERIA) as a commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. The Senate confirmed this, yesterday, during a plenary session, with a resounding Nay vote on the floor of their chamber.
However, pundits predict that the president Major General Buhari may renominate her, just as he did when the Senate rejected former EFCC nominee, Mr Magu for confirmation. Nevertheless, Onochie’s calculated bid to be an INEC commissioner has met a brick wall.
